Peony

Peony

A painting in one sitting in the “Dead” color palette was the assignment in class this week. We chose a Manet which had been painted in just a few hours and were suppose to do the same. I chose this image because I was drawn to the triangle shape and the pink-navy-gold color scheme.

Santiago

Santiago

Sometimes known as Tenebrism or “chiaruscuro” or “coming through,” the assignment this week was to create a painting using dramatic lighting. I challenged myself to only use Mars Black.

I call him Santiago.

Octoshroom

Octoshroom

Last spring I took this photograph of a mushroom that looked liked an octopus. I wanted to try an oval canvas and felt this was the right image to try. I call him Octoshroom.

Area 25

Area 25 Milawi Garden
