In 2018, I designed a xeriscape garden at a maternal health center in Malawi. I took a photograph of my fellow gardeners and thought, I would like to learn to paint this someday.
Five years later, Malawi Gardeners is currently on view as part of Glassell’s “Orange” Kinder Morgan Exhibition Series. The exhibition is on view through December at the Kinder Morgan headquarters in downtown Houston.
Today, the garden is taller than the building.
